Neur to Subatan, From Wonder to Beauty

Lake Neur is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the country. This lake is the starting point of one of the most beautiful hiking trails, cycling, and safari that will take you to the beautiful village of Subatan.

By traveling to this lake, you can enjoy many natural and spectacular scenery, such as cliffs and wild birds. Neur is one of the best destinations for rainbow trout fishing. The middle of May to the end of June is the best season for this spectacular track. Therefore, to go or not to go is not the problem here, the problem is when to go.

Imagine the landscape of the green pastures that wild herds of horses are in between and the breeze that dances with anemone flowers. But can all these beauties come together somewhere?! The answer is yes. All these sights are gathered together in the Subatan. Add friendly people and delicious foods to them.

Subatan is considered the Paradise of Iran. This beautifully weathered and landscaped area is a multi-hectare billboard that people walk on. In the winter, the region is nearly vacant due to severe cold weather and heavy rainfall, and during the spring, its cottages gradually regain their livelihoods. Because of its high altitude and the location of the area on the northern winds, the summer weather is very moderate and desirable.

One of the main symbols and beauties of the Subatan is the oak-houses that are scattered in the green plains and ready for your stay. Subatan consists of two Turkish words “Su” and “Batan“, which in total means the location of water sinking or water drowning. It is said that the reason for this naming was the existence of a fountain in this village that the water, once boiling from the soil, was back into the ground!
