    Kermanshah is a spectacular city that always amazes tourists with its beauties. Shafee Jamàe Mosque, as one of these beauties, is a Sunni comprehensive mosque located along the way to Tarikeh Bazaar in the city. The mosque was constructed in a place formerly called “Zaersara” (the Pilgrim hall) by many Sunni benefactors under the supervision of Haj Molla Seyyed Hossein Masoudy in 1945. Today the prayers are held in the new building built in Turkish style mosques next to the old monument. Molla Mohammad Rabiei was the Imam of the Friday prayers of the mosque. He was martyred in a series of serial killings in 1996.

The Shafeae mosque was constructed on a 1,060 m2 foundation. Elegant and original Islamic architecture has been applied in the construction of this mosque. Inspired by the classic Ottoman mosques, the unique gypsum plasterwork interior decorated beautifully with the verses of the Holy Quran has enhanced its beauty and spirituality. Of other impressive features of the mosque, is the astonishing Islamic architecture decorated with varied colors magnificently patterned tiles and windows covered with beautiful colorful panes. Overall, the Shafeae Mosque, with its magnificent and skyscraping minarets, has enhanced the boom of Kermanshah.

Huge domes and large central spaces underneath, sharp-pointed minarets, magnificent interior decorations with detailed paintings, beautiful monograms, and pillars are all representative of this kind of mosques and resemble the beautiful architecture of Turkish style mosques.

The structure of the mosque is metal with multiple colorful arches and a travertine marble exterior. Shafeae Mosque is a complex of domes and minarets, two of which are gold and about 9 meters high, mounted on the south side of the mosque endowment building.
